MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in agricultural entomology or plant protection.
  • Minimum three years of practical experience in breeding, production and use of Proteinic Insect (Black Soldier Fly).
  • Working experience in organic fertilizer production/application from the PI “BSF”.
  • Working knowledge of English.

TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • Knowledge on breeding, production and use of Proteinic Insect (Black Soldier Fly).
  • Capacity to prepare training materials and manual on breeding, production and use of Proteinic Insect (Black Soldier Fly).
  • Ability to writing reports
  • Ability to communicate effectively and act as a trainer
  • Computer literacy with spreadsheets, databases and electronic programmes
  • Excellent communication (both written and oral) and presentation and reporting skills

Responsibilities
  • Prepare a report on global best practices on the breeding, production and use of Proteinic Insect (Black Soldier Fly).
  • Review and analyze the baseline assessment report to identify the needs and feasibility of the project interventions.
  • Provide technical expertise for the establishment of integrated system for production technology of Proteinic Insect (Black Soldier Fly).
  • Prepare training materials and manual on breeding, production technology and uses of Proteinic Insect (Black Soldier Fly).
  • Provide technical expertise for organic fertilizer production/application from the PI “BSF” in target farms.
  • Participate as a Resource Person in the training on breeding, production technology and uses of Proteinic Insect (Black Soldier Fly).
  • Prepare a final report of the project and end of assignment report.
  • Obtain technical clearance with LTO of the project
  • Any other activities, as necessary.
