ENTRY LEVEL ARCHITECT

Holland, MI
E. A. Bonelli + Associates, Inc., a full-service architectural and engineering firm, specializing in the food and beverage industry. We are looking to fill an on-site position in Holland, Michigan.

JOB SUMMARY/POSITION OVERVIEW

Learn and understand manufacturing processes to develop floor plans that optimize process, people, and material flow in manufacturing facilities. This role works under the direction of our experienced design team on a diverse range of projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • NAAB or CACB accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Highly organized
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT, SketchUp and Lumion
  • Ability to travel for site surveys
  • The continued right to work in the U.S.
    Compensation: Annual Salary Range $65,000 – $70,000

Responsibilities
  1. Design Development
  • Integrate processes and equipment into the building design and layout.
  • Lead interdisciplinary teams.
  • Assist in creating conceptual designs, layouts, and renderings.
  • Collaborate with senior architects to develop design solutions.
  1. Drafting & Documentation
  • Prepare architectural drawings, floor plans, sections, and elevations.
  • Create detailed construction documents and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
  • Understand hygienic and sanitary building design principles and details.
  1. Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Develop and manage BIM models for design coordination.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in digital models.
  1. Code Compliance & Regulations
  • Understand the intent, applicability, and flexibility of building codes in manufacturing facilities.
  • Research and apply relevant building codes, zoning laws, and accessibility standards.
  • Assist in obtaining permits and approvals from regulatory authorities.
  1. Site Analysis & Surveys
  • Conduct site visits to gather data, take measurements, and assess existing conditions.
  • Document site constraints and opportunities to inform design decisions.
  1. Collaboration & Coordination
  • Work closely with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers to integrate designs.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and consultants.
  1. Presentation & Visual
  • Create 3D models, renderings, and presentation boards for client and internal reviews.
  • Develop diagrams and illustrations to explain design concepts.
  1. Project Management Support
  • Assist in project scheduling, budgeting, and coordination.
  • Track project progress and update documentation as needed.
