POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Entry Writer to join our Customs Brokerage team. This position is ideal for individuals looking to launch a career in international trade and compliance. You will learn to prepare and process U.S. Customs entries for imported goods, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and other government agency requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in international business, trade, or logistics a plus but not required
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and data entry skills
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven, team-based environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of international shipping documents is helpful but not required
  • Willingness to learn U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, and PGA requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and general computer literacy
  • Spanish or other second language proficiency is a plus
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of customs entries via ABI (Automated Broker Interface)
  • Review commercial documents (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading) for accuracy and compliance
  • Enter and classify merchandise using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS)
  • Communicate with clients, freight forwarders, and government agencies to gather required documentation
  • Coordinate release and delivery of shipments with carriers, warehouses, and trucking companies
  • Support Licensed Customs Brokers in resolving holds, compliance issues, and documentation discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping in accordance with CBP regulations and internal SOPs
