Electrical Controls Engineers at SDC are collaborative, detail-oriented individuals that are responsible for developing and programming complete solutions for automated equipment according to customer and internal specifications. What You’ll Do: Learn to design and develop software and controls for automation equipment, including: - Electrical and control system design - PLC programming - Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming - Robotic Programming - Troubleshooting electrical, PLC, and HMI systems - Industrial Machine Vision Systems Assist with evaluating and specifying hardware and software components (robots, sensors, controllers, etc.) Collaborate with experienced engineers and project teams to solve technical challenges. Support the machine building process from assembly through testing, installation, and customer training. Participate in cross-functional projects, including robotics, pneumatics, and motion systems. Requirements What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, embedded systems or related field required. Interest in automation, robotics, or machine controls. Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC’s, HMI’s, Servo control, electrical design, and machine vision systems a plus. Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, LabView, MatLab, microcontrollers or robotic programming a plus. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn and take on new challenges. Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support projects.
