Description Entry-Level Equipment Maintenance Technician At Hi-Way Paving, we are general contractors in the construction field that specialize in significant amounts of concrete paving, storm drainage, and excavation on highways and airfields. We are seeking candidates for the role of Entry-Level Equipment Maintenance Technician. In this position, you will be responsible for cleaning, inspecting, and preparing all construction equipment and vehicles for use on job sites. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in equipment maintenance within the construction industry. This role may require up to 100% travel to job sites in Charlotte, NC; Nashville, TN; and future locations. What You'll Do Drive and operate the mobile hot water pressure wash trailer. Clean and organize a variety of construction equipment, including pavers, dirt equipment, plant equipment, construction vehicles, and other machinery. Perform visual inspections on equipment, documenting any deficiencies and providing written reports. Use hand and power tools to complete maintenance tasks as necessary. Communicate effectively with laborers, machine operators, and site management to ensure smooth operations. Observe and adhere to safe workplace practices and safety protocols at all times. Assist with other tasks and duties as assigned. What We Look For Construction-site labor experience, required. Heavy or highway construction experience preferred. Additional Requirements: Ability to gain clearance for restricted/high-security zones (e.g., airport AOA, military bases). Willingness to travel 100% of the time. Valid driver’s license. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb, walk, kneel, squat, push, pull, and enter confined spaces. If applicable, indicate union affiliation in your application.
