We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Entry-Level Java Developer to join a forward-thinking development team building cutting-edge payment and financial technology solutions.
This is a fantastic opportunity to deepen your Java expertise while gaining hands-on experience in Kotlin as the team transitions into multi-language development. You’ll be mentored by experienced engineers, work on real-world applications, and contribute to projects that make a tangible impact in the financial technology sector.
This is a Hybrid Remote role. You’ll have the flexibility to work from home part of the week, though you will be required to spend more days in the office during your initial training and onboarding period to accelerate learning and integration with the team.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Learn and apply Kotlin as part of ongoing development projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in Java applications.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprints.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2:1 or First Class Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (recent graduates welcome).
  • Strong foundation in Java and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Eagerness to learn Kotlin and embrace new technologies.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and Git.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

BONUS SKILLS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Basic understanding of Android development (Android Studio, Android SDK).
  • Knowledge of Android architecture components (MVVM, LiveData).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and basic testing practices.

Why Join Us?

  • Structured mentorship from experienced developers.
  • Exposure to both Java and Kotlin in a real-world environment.
  • Opportunities to work on impactful projects in the financial technology space.
  • A supportive and learning-focused environment with career growth potential.

Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire – Hybrid Remote (more office days initially then 4 days per week from home)
Education: 2:1 or First Class Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
