Production Technician

At Biologica, we specialize in identifying aquatic organisms to support environmental monitoring efforts, helping to assess the health of our ecosystems. Based in Victoria, BC, we’re a family-owned company that values teamwork, learning, and precision in everything we do. We’re looking for a Production Technician to join our lab and help analyze aquatic sediment samples by sorting, counting, and identifying macroinvertebrates—small but important organisms that indicate water quality. Key Qualifications
· High School Diploma.
· Novice experience using a microscope in a laboratory environment.
· Novice familiarity with marine and freshwater invertebrates. The ability to identify these to major groups is an asset.
· Novice experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
· Intermediate ability to maintain timelines and budget while ensuring high accuracy.
· Proactive problem-solving ability. 
· A keen attention to detail.
· High adaptability to evolving job requirements, resilient and innovative approach to both fast-paced environments and slower periods.
· Must be able to sit and perform focused work at a microscope for extended periods of time (8 hours a day).
