Driftwood Communications is actively recruiting full-time skill labourers to start their career telecom industry as entry level OSP Technicians with our Construction Team. If you are looking to work within a fast growing industry, with plenty of opportunity for advancement, we want to talk to you!

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs on a regular basis throughout the shift
• Work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts
• Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, including operating tools and equipment
• Work is performed in an outdoor setting with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and materials
• Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.

THESE FULL-TIME ROLES ARE BASED ON VICTORIA AND KELOWNA.

Compensation is $22-$28 per hour based on experience.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Assist in the high-quality installation of underground telecommunications infrastructure
• Place aerial and underground telecom cables
• Work in varied weather conditions
• Complete pre-work and ongoing safety hazard assessments/hazard controls; report all incidents
• Conduct pre-trip equipment inspections; report all issues
• Complete routine equipment cleaning, maintenance, and repairs
• Review plans and drawings for installation guidance
• Complete documentation including safety, production, materials
• Positively reflect Driftwood in interactions with clients, residents, and businesses
• Assist in identification of buried underground utilities prior to excavation
• Physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 80 pounds in an outdoor environment
• Other tasks as required
