Precision Garage Door Service of Vancouver (formerly Precision Door and Gate Ltd) is currently seeking Entry Level Overhead Door/Gate Technician to support our team of experienced Service Technicians in the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial and residential doors and gates.
This role is ideal for someone with a hands-on, mechanically inclined background looking to grow in the skilled trades. As a Entry Level Overhead Door/Gate Technician work closely with experienced technicians, assisting in all aspects of door and gate installation and service. While prior experience is a plus, this position is open to reliable, safety-conscious individuals willing to learn and grow within the company.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Able to legally work in Canada
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in the commercial and residential door service industry is a plus
• Knowledge of various door types, brands and hardware is a plus
• Ability to use hand and power tools effectively
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency in performing mathematical calculations involving fractions and reading a tape measure accurately for precise measurements and installations
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
• Knowledge of safety regulations and adherence to safety protocols
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Proficient in operating power tools
• Participation in ongoing training
  Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

• Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment at job sites
• Handle tools and materials safely and efficiently
• Keep work areas clean and organized
• Perform basic measurements and prepare hardware under supervision
• Follow instructions and company safety protocols at all times
• Support technicians in troubleshooting and repair tasks
• Help document work and track parts used
• Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and occasionally with clients
