Position Title: Entry Level Production Technician (Eligibility limited to current CMF Boot Camp Interns) Pay Rate: $22.48/hour Category/Shift: Hourly Full-Time / Rotating Shift Schedule Rotating 12 hour shifts (6:15am-6:30pm / 6:15pm-6:30am) on a 28 day rotation swinging from nights to days weekly – 36 hours one week, 48 the next week (8 hours built in OT every check). A total of 7 DAY shifts, 7 NIGHT shifts, and 14 OFF shifts every 28 days. About The Role: This position supports Global Cellulose Fibers’ Columbus Modified Fiber (CMF) facility, located in Columbus, Mississippi. CMF is a vital part of GCF’s Business. We are a converting operation that produces specialty fibers used in the production of diapers, filtration products, and other absorbent personal care products. Production Technicians are expected to work as versatile, multi‑skilled team members in a continuous process environment. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and successfully complete a comprehensive assessment process. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Operating and working effectively in industrial conditions Adapting to a fast‑paced, dynamic work environment Performing duties in hot or cold, dusty or dirty areas, and safely working around hazardous chemicals with appropriate training and protective equipment Operating mill mobile equipment Working in high‑noise environments with proper safety training and protection Maintaining mill cleanliness and housekeeping standards Supporting mill preparations for outages, winter weather, and other operational needs Performing additional tasks as assigned About You: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required skills and/or experience(s): Must be a current CMF Boot Camp Intern At least 18 years of age Minimum high school graduate, GED, or equivalent work experience Eligible for employment in the US Basic computer skills Able to function in a team environment Must be willing to meet the following requirements: Operate or work in industrial conditions (may be hot/cold, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces (with proper safety training and safety protection) Undergo a job-related health assessment as a condition of employment Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment Work a rotating shift schedule Work overtime on a regular basis Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis Wear required safety equipment Preferred candidates have the following skills and/or experience(s): Demonstrated stability through a consistent work history with at least 2-years consecutive employment; or, Demonstrated combination of technical training and school leadership activities; or, Other technical training or certifications such as Ready to Work programs Relevant work experience in an industrial environment Critical Thinking – Analyze and use logic to address issues Team Player – Collaborate and work cooperatively across a multifunctional team Dependability – Being reliable, responsible, and dependable Self-Motivation – Exerting effort towards training to move up to next position and accepting feedback to make improvements or take corrective action About Global Cellulose Fibers (GCF): Our GCF business helps customers transform renewable cellulose fibers into essential everyday products.
