POSITION OVERVIEW

Adak Engineering & Consulting LLC is seeking an entry-level research specialist and report writer to support our team of Civil Engineers conducting commercial property assessments in Florida. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates with an Associate’s degree in any discipline from an accredited institution to gain valuable industry experience and build a career in property consulting and assessment. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in environmental science, construction industry, building science or Geology.
In this role, you will primarily assist in preparing technical reports. Occasional field-based assessments, collecting and shipping material samples may be required. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, ability to work independently, strong writing and communication skills, and comfort with meeting tight project deadlines. This is a part-time, flex schedule position with work from home option. The position is anticipated to require up to 30 hours per week.
This position requires a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, as well as the ability to pass a criminal background check.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s Degree in any discipline from an accredited institution. Degree should be completed by the time of employment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (Motor Vehicle Report will be required).
  • No criminal record (criminal background check will be conducted prior to employment).
  • Ability to write clear, concise field reports and communicate findings effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and adaptability to shifting project needs.
  • Proficient in using digital cameras and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed, sometimes with short notice.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare organized and accurate written reports within a tight deadline. Training will be provided.
  • Conduct online and database research and ability to synthesize information in provided templates.
  • Capture comprehensive photo documentation of property conditions and structural elements.
  • Conduct sample collection (paint, soil, building materials), follow chain-of-custody procedures, and ship to certified laboratories.
  • Occasional project site visits may be required.
  • Perform other project-related duties as assigned.
