Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join the AECOM team in our Philadelphia, PA office.
AECOM is searching for candidates who can be a role model, client-focused, impactful, and decisive. Entry-level technical new hires are eligible to participate in AECOM’s Graduate Development Program (GDP), a program designed to support assimilation into the organization, help with technical development planning toward licensure (or other early technical milestones), and create a foundation of knowledge necessary for future career success.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
  • Master of Science (with Structural Engineering concentration)
  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software. Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, STAAD, MathCad).
  • Team oriented with strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Performing assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to build analytic and design skills and further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • Performing assignments related to the design, analysis, rehabilitation and inspection of highway bridges and ancillary structures.
  • Using computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Exercising judgment limited to developing work details in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Preparing engineering related designs, calculations, sketches, visual aids, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Performing work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
