Dimensional Engineering is used to identify requirements and objectives that are dimensional in nature, decompose those requirements and objectives to measurements, use variation analysis tools to link measurements to detail part feature variation. Requirements are typically system level and customer defined. Objectives are typically build objectives and identified by production engineering to reduce product cost and increase product quality. In this role the candidate will apply the dimensional engineering process on programs and use variation
analysis tools. Additionally in this role the candidate will help develop, maintain, and train dimensional engineering processes, tool use, and tolerance application (GD&T).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with understanding of determinate assembly methodologies
  • Formal training and/or practical experience the application and interpretation of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
  • Experience with variation analysis (1D or 3D) on structure, assembly approaches
  • Experience with 3D variation analysis software (Siemens VSA)
  • Experience with using NX/Teamcenter or CATIA/ENOVIA methods and tools

TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor), or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Required
