MJ is accepting applications for a Transportation Engineer to join our great employees in our Transportation Department located at our Corporate Headquarters in Clifton Park, NY in 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 0 to 2 years of civil engineering experience.
  • B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET- accredited college.
  • Registration as an Intern Engineer (I.E.) in NY is preferred.
  • Understanding of NYSDOT and NYSTA regulations.
  • Technical knowledge in the use of MicroStation and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work within multiple design teams and execute to meet demanding schedules.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or be eligible to work without an employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities
  • Working within multiple design teams to support traffic and transportation design projects from initial project programming through construction.
  • Prepare project plans including but not limited to general plans, typical sections, grading and erosion control plans, drainage, utility plans, profiles, signing and striping plans to support project approvals and construction.
  • Support in the preparation the technical reports including design reports, drainage reports, bid documents and cost estimating.
  • Complete field work including testing, inventory, and inspections.
  • Participate in the construction administration support including shop drawing reviews, reviewing / responding to RFIs, completing periodic site inspections.
