Overview ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s South Portland, ME office is seeking an entry-level Transportation Engineer to join our growing Transportation practice. This position provides an opportunity to work on complex transportation projects for major federal, state, and local clients. Responsibilities Work within a team of professionals in developing transportation design and solutions for a multitude of transportation and highway-related projects Highway design Drainage design Traffic control development Preliminary and final design plans Contract documents, including specifications Engineer’s construction cost estimates Skills and Attributes Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Comfortable working independently as well as on a team Engage with multi-discipline design team(s) Ability to work in an office or virtual environment Detail oriented, self-motivated, and committed Strong computer skills Critical thinking and problem solving Qualifications BS in Civil Engineering 0-1 years of professional transportation/highway engineering experience EIT preferred MicroStation / InRoads / OpenRoads, AutoCAD / Civil3D experience is a plus Applicants must be legally authorized to work for VHB in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
