Overview ABOUT THE POSITION VHB is seeking an entry-level Transportation Engineer to join us. This position will be based out of our Orlando, FL office. Work would begin in the summer 2026 and consist of a hybrid work setting. Responsibilities Work within a team of professionals in developing transportation design concepts and solutions for a multitude of transportation and highway-related projects Support project development and environment (PD&E) studies, concept development studies, road safety assessments, and transportation planning documentation Research, collect, tabulate, interpret, and summarize data Prepare written planning documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports Prepare meeting agendas, meeting summaries, and public meeting materials Develop preliminary design plans Develop engineer’s construction cost estimates Document and communicate findings from field observations and data collection Skills and Attributes Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Comfortable working independently as well as on a team Ability to work in an office or virtual environment Detail oriented, self-motivated, and committed Strong computer skills Critical thinking and problem solving Qualifications BS in Civil Engineering 0-1 years of professional transportation engineering experience Engineer in Training certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months, preferred OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD/Civil3D, Synchro, ConceptStation experience a plus We are VHB!
