JOB DESCRIPTION
South Cambridgeshire District Council are looking to recruit one Enforcement Officer to join our current team who deliver high-quality services to our residents. You will not necessarily have previous experience of being an Enforcement Officer, but you will be very familiar with working in a structured environment where regulations, procedures and attention to detail are key to the success of your role. You will ideally have a previous background and or knowledge of a public or services type environment.
As an Enforcement Officer at South Cambridgeshire District Council you will carry out investigations, case work for prosecution, issue fixed penalty notices and public liaison / educational duties related to fly tipping, street littering, abandoned vehicles and other Envirocrime situations. You will enforce regulations related to Environmental crime and work with our teams and partners to continue to make South Cambridgeshire a clean, pleasant environment for our residents, businesses and visitors.
As an Enforcement Officer you will work flexibly, both indoors from home and at our Waterbeach or Cambourne offices, as well as out on visiting Envirocrime sites. You will have the ability to drive a council pool vehicle – either an electric van or 4x4 - for site visits, so a category B (car) licence is essential for these roles.
South Cambridgeshire District Council currently operates four-day week working arrangements. A four-day week is when full-time staff work one less day per week (four days instead of five) but still get paid the same salary. The idea is that we get 100% of our work done, in about 85% of the time, for 100% of the pay. The purpose is to deliver an excellent service to residents - whilst better supporting the health and wellbeing of our colleagues.
For an informal discussion about the roles within South Cambridgeshire District Council please contact Ben Wilkin – Environmental Crimes Enforcement Team Manager Ben.Wilkin@scambs.gov.uk
Closing Date: 9am 21 April 2025
