About the role AGL’s Hunter Transition team have an opportunity for an Environment Advisor to assist with the delivery of the Liddell Power Station demolition, rehabilitation and remediation. Based in Muswellbrook, this role will support the management of compliance with relevant project approvals and licenses, with a secure pipeline in the region of future transition projects. What you’ll be doing: Assist with the development of site Rehabilitation, Remediation and Closure Plans. Provide support to the Senior Environment Manager Transition and Construction and Senior Environment Advisor with providing technical and strategic environment and compliance advice to the broader Hunter Transition Team and contractors. Assist with the responsible and effective rehabilitation conditions in regulatory applications, consents and licences associated with the environment and rehabilitation obligations. Assist in preparing information required for engagement with external bodies on issues relating to the Liddell site rehabilitation and remediation of AGL Macquarie assets Environment & Compliance. Support statutory notification, reporting and environmental investigations. Support Project compliance against relevant approvals, licencing and permits. Assist in providing professional and technical advice in relation to effective environmental management for the Project. Assist with the management of contracts and all activities associated with the environmental rehabilitation and remediation works at AGL Macquarie. Assist with coordinating, scheduling and delivering monitoring required for compliance, due diligence and ad hoc approvals. Assist in managing EMS and project regulatory compliance tracking and awareness. Assist the Environment and Regulatory Approvals team with regulatory planning approvals as required including management and coordination of contractors and consultants associated with regulatory planning approvals. Provides support across Hunter Transition team with environmental management practice and raise awareness and understanding of environmental issues. What you’ll bring: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering or equivalent. Understanding of NSW planning and regulatory framework for State Significant Developments. Demonstrated experience in a similar role with operational compliance on large-scale projects. Collaborative and solutions-focused to multidisciplinary and complex environmental projects.
