About the Role:
AGL is looking for an Environment Advisor to join our Bayswater team, with a focus on ensuring technical rigor and environmental compliance across our power station operations. This role plays an important role in supporting the AGL Environment Manager and collaborating with our Operations and Engineering teams. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Environmental Projects: Assist the Environment Manager and operational teams in planning, scoping, and delivering environmental projects.
  • Environmental Monitoring & Compliance: Focus on monitoring and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards in daily operations.
  • Environmental Management Systems: Manage and implement environmental management systems, risk management, and compliance requirements.
  • Project Management: Oversee and coordinate specialist consultants in environmental matters to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Legislation & Policy Tracking: Stay informed on changes in environmental legislation and policies and communicate these to relevant stakeholders.

About You:
You’re a collaborative team player with a passion for environmental management and a proven track record in ensuring compliance and driving projects to successful completion. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, coupled with your strong project management skills, makes you an ideal candidate for this role.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Tertiary Qualification: In Environment or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Heavy industry experience is ideal
  • Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with local, state, and federal planning approvals, air emissions regulatory requirements, and Australian legislation.
  • Project Management: Scoping projects, tendering, and managing specialist consultants, contractors, and laboratories.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with various stakeholders in environmental matters.
