Work Location: Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth
This is an opportunity for a 12-month contract.

We’re looking for a passionate and driven Environment Advisor to join our site-based team and play a key role in upholding our environmental standards across some of Australia’s most dynamic mining operations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2–3 years of experience in the resource sector
  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation (state & federal) and its application in mining
  • Familiarity with Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or related field
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and passion for environmental sustainability

Responsibilities
  • Conduct field-based monitoring: surface water, groundwater, dust, and soil sampling
  • Analyse monitoring data to detect trends and ensure compliance with trigger levels
  • Conduct internal environmental compliance inspections, audits and verifications
  • Assist in incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Prepare annual statutory compliance reports
  • Support land disturbance tracking and environmental impact assessments
  • Deliver engaging training and communication packages to site teams
  • Provide practical guidance on environmental issues to operational personnel
  • Promote innovation through technology use (e.g., drones, telemetry)
  • Drive continuous improvement in environmental processes and practices
