QUALIFICATIONS

Tertiary Qualification (Diploma or greater) in an Environment and Heritage related discipline preferred.
Incident Investigation Training (ICAM preferable).
Internal Auditor (Environmental Auditing advantageous).
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role in transport operations.
In-depth knowledge of Environmental legislation.
Proven capability to develop and implement safety management systems.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

Working closely with the HSE Manager, you will play a vital role in implementing UGLRL’s Environmental Management System. Your expertise and dedication will support enhancement projects and ensure compliance with environmental standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Implement and monitor the UGLRL Environmental Management System.
Deliver environmental planning, solutions, and coordination, specifically for Enhancements Projects or as directed by the HSE Manager.
Provide support and guidance across various Enhancements Projects, ensuring environmental compliance and safety.
Assist in responding to incidents, leading or participating in investigations of WHSE events.
Conduct site monitoring, reporting, and review the development and implementation of all Environmental Documentation for Enhancement Projects.
Foster the establishment and ongoing support of the One HSE Culture program.
Support the response, recovery, and Lessons Learnt from incidents.
Ensure all UGL and sub-contractor personnel are adequately accredited for HSE requirements.
Conduct HSE assessment of plant and equipment as needed.
Contribute to incident reporting and monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
Support the development and implementation of the Environmental Management System to manage and mitigate environmental impacts from maintenance and project works.
Assist in drafting Environmental Impact Assessments for major periodic maintenance activities.
Provide environmental training and inductions on relevant issues to UGL staff and sub-contractors, maintaining records of such training.
Implement and monitor environmental control requirements, such as sediment and erosion control measures.
Review sub-contractors’ Environmental Management Plans, procedures, records, and activities.
Manage risks associated with environmental hazards, incidents, and controls.
Conduct audits and inspections of environmental control implementations.
