Join our Salvos Stores team and play a key role in driving environmental sustainability and circular economy initiatives across The Salvation Army.
Not your average retailer, Salvos Stores is made up of a team of changemakers who are passionate about raising funds to help The Salvation Army provide over one million sessions of care to disadvantaged Australians. This role will position Salvos Stores as a leader in the circular economy and ensure that practices align with The Salvation Army’s commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.

About The Job

  • Support and deliver strategies that strengthen Salvo Stores impact and drive progress in environmental sustainability and the circular economy.
  • Support contract administration, grant sourcing, supplier management, reporting, and operational queries
  • Contribute to building strategies for sustainable systems with strong social and environmental impact.
  • Share your expertise to inform and educate your team and the broader Salvos Stores network.
  • Apply your business acumen to deliver recycled goods, knowing your efforts support those in need.
  • Stay ahead of recycling trends and regulations to help reduce waste and pollution.

This is a full-time, 12-month maximum term role reporting to the Environment and Sustainability Manager. We offer a flexible hybrid work model, 2 mandatory in-office days and the option to work remotely for up to 3 days per week.
Location of the role is flexible within Australia for the right candidate.

About You

  • A desire to work in an organisation that delivers positive social impact
  • Relevant experience, knowledge and/or qualifications in a sustainability related field
  • Sound knowledge and passion for circular economy/waste/resource management
  • Proven experience in research, analysis and database management
  • Proven experience in problem solving and managing projects
  • Understanding of how community approaches are important in the development of new strategies.
  • Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills.
