We are looking for a collaborative, highly organized professional to serve as the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Lead supporting our Retail operations in Northern China. While a formal safety background is not required, the successful candidate must bring strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and a proven ability to engage with local authorities and regulatory agencies. This role requires excellent stakeholder management, a proactive mindset, cultural awareness and the ability to influence across all levels of the business. DESCRIPTION - Partner with EHS Manager & regional EHS Leads to run large scale global EHS projects and future initiatives. - Lead EHS support for retail operations in Beijing, ensuring compliance with national and local regulations. - Develop and implement EHS policies and programs in alignment with Chinese laws and corporate standards. - Act as the primary liaison with local authorities during inspections, audits, and regulatory engagements. - ]Integrate with Retail Support Operations, Retail Supply, Store Strategies, Global Store Support, New Store Opening (NSO) & Re-model team to ensure early knowledge of potential EHS challenges and advise accordingly. - Provide insight and advice on meeting the requirements of H&S for existing and emerging Apple sites, including Retail stores. - Undertake regular site visits and provide mentorship & training to facilitate site-level compliance with applicable regulations - Ensure regular H&S assessments, inspections and safety check ins are completed and communicated to the appropriate teams. - Manage the process for reporting, investigating and communicating accidents, hazards and concerns. - Support sites with emergency response preparation, including emergency plans, training and drills. - Ability to manage the safety of large scale events - Act as point of contact for the coordination for EHS communications and issues to and from Global Retail Support. - Communicate optimally to all levels, from floor to corporate executives, the progress and trends towards achieving excellence in EHS compliance. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 10+ years of professional experience - preferably in multi-national companies. Retail experience preferred. Strong working knowledge of China’s local EHS laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., GB Standards, Work Safety Law, Environmental Protection Law).Strong working knowledge of China’s local EHS laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., GB Standards, Work Safety Law, Environmental Protection Law). Experience taking care of Chinese regulatory authorities, including but not limited to the Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM), local Fire Services, and Environmental Bureaus.
