We are seeking a dedicated Environment, Health and Safety Leader and professional to play a pivotal role in advancing environment protection, occupational health and safety within our organization in Benelux. You will lead the Site Environment, Safety and Health teams and a team of EHS professionals. In this role, you will advise management, and you are responsible for implementing, maintaining and continuously improving the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Management Systems for Philips across all entities within the Benelux. You will be pivotal in promoting a proactive safety culture within the organization and collaborate closely with the Group Health & Safety team on the design and implementation of H&S programs. This role requires strong relationship building and working with other functions (e.g. Business Continuity Management, Real Estate, Security, Sustainability, People, Insurance Risk Management) to further integrate EHS practices and engage with external partners and regulatory agencies as needed. Your role: Understand the operational, commercial, R&D, field and all other activities, determine the impact and consequences of the activities on EHS and lead the deployment of effective EHS programs. Support Site Leaders and Governors in meeting their EHS accountability and responsibilities, ensuing from legal and Philips requirements. Cooperate with Central Works Council and, when relevant, decentral works councils to maintain and improve Occupational Health and Safety for Philips employees in the Netherlands. Represent Philips in external EHS bodies like FME and VNO. Provide input to the global EHS goals and objectives based on geographical requirements and develop and implement EHS strategies for the Benelux. Member and secretary of Country Council Nederland; coordinator of Benelux Incident management team; member of People Function SME Netherlands. Identify resource gaps and investment needs. Define priorities and ensure proper task allocation and distribution of workload. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and liaise for support with E2E H&S Business Partners, Group H&S team, and Group SUS. Lead and mentor a team of EHS professionals across Benelux, overseeing the competence development and needs of the EHS professionals. Monitor compliance and anticipate new local EHS regulations, and develop strategic plans to ensure compliance. Oversee and support the geographical implementation of EHS management systems and programs, report and maintain accurate records of EHS performance to management and relevant stakeholders. Drive synergies to optimize EHS management system implementation and maintenance, and drive standardization and promotion of best practices and success stories. You're the right fit if you have the following skills and experience: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or equivalent. Managed EHS at Senior Leadership level reporting at corporate / board level. Over 10 years of managing EHS programs. Able to influence and lead global cross-functional, multi-cultural teams. Demonstrated ability to support and lead global programs and initiatives. ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 Lead Auditor. Strong legal compliance experience with global exposure (incl EU). Strong H&S risk assessment skills and audit experience at multinational sites. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experienced H&S trainer. Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch and/or German is highly preferred. How we work together We believe that we are better together than apart. This is an office-based role.
