POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist, this position is responsible for identifying and assessing Safety, Health and Environmental (EHS) issues, and continually improving performance through the development and implementation of preventative programs. You will coordinate all EHS compliance activities including investigations, compliance, analysis, education, and training.

Responsibilities
  • Provide EHS expertise for daily operations.
  • Manage emergency and hazard response activities.
  • Review and actively support all EHS investigations to ensure appropriate reporting, root cause analysis and corrective actions are taken.
  • Monitor and participate in guidance on current and future production activities ensuring compliance with EHS acts and regulations.
  • Stay current on changes in EHS regulation and legislation to ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and municipal environmental permits and licensing requirements.
  • Identify and develop EHS education and required certifications.
  • Develop and deliver EHS initiatives to continuously improve policies and programs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Loss Management policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Monitor and assess occupational exposures from the various processes conducted.
  • Implement and monitor elements of the waste management system, including reporting requirements of air emissions, industrial and hazardous waste disposal, storage tanks, chemical purchase/storage, etc.
  • Provide and maintain accurate statistical data, reports, and analysis of EHS conditions in support of reduction goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all occupational safety and health regulations, life safety codes and CSA standards.
  • Maintain registration requirements of ISO 14001/45001.
  • Support Joint Health and Safety committees, functions, and activities.
