We’re on the lookout for an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to join our Sustaining Approvals team in Perth.   In this pivotal role, you’ll help shape Fortescue’s future by driving key mining and decarbonisation approvals that support our long-term environmental and sustainability goals. You’ll work across a variety of projects, preparing high-quality approvals documentation and collaborating with stakeholders across the business, government agencies, and communities.   We’re seeking someone with a strong background in environmental management within the energy or resources sector — someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates with confidence, and delivers exceptional results under shifting priorities.   If you’re ready to play a hands-on role in advancing Fortescue’s sustainability journey, we’d love to hear from you.  Key Responsibilities Prepare high-quality Mine Development and Closure Proposals aligned with business objectives. Support the development of environmental approvals under the Mining Act, Environmental Protection Act 1986, and Biodiversity Conservation Act 2017. Participate in environmental risk assessments to inform approval applications. Collaborate with technical specialists to ensure timely, accurate inputs into approvals. Maintain and track approvals schedules, proactively managing risks and identifying solutions. Work closely with key internal stakeholders including the Environment & Closure team, Strategic Planning, and Approvals Planning, as well as external partners such as DMPE, DBCA, DWER, and Traditional Owner groups. Qualifications and Experience 5+ years’ experience in environmental roles within the resources industry or government. Proven experience preparing environmental approvals under the WA Mining Act. Solid understanding of state and federal environmental legislation and the Pilbara environment. Strong report writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and GIS software. A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or a related discipline. About Us   Be part of something big.
