The Opportunity
The Environmental Advisor is responsible for providing environmental leadership and mentoring. Reporting the the SQE Manager NSW/QLD and working with our construction staff on various projects across the eastern states, you will provide excellence in environment management systems, implementation of policies, procedures & processes and driving a positive working environment.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDE:

  • Conduct regular site inspection to ensure Environmental obligations are maintained
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure planned works comply with environmental management plan
  • Read and interpret Development Approvals, Environmental Impact Statements and other relevant project information, then using relevant information to develop or modify project construction environmental management plan(s)
  • Report to the SQE Manager and communicate with the broader team to advise of any issues that could be destructive to the environment
  • Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with the requirements of the relevant specifications, codes and standards, which form part of the contract and environmental legal obligations

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL POSSESS:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in environmental management including experience in a site based role in construction, mining, or land rehabilitation.
  • Previous experience or knowledge with field environmental monitoring techniques, including water quality testing and sampling, vegetation and weed identification, soil sampling and contamination management, nuisance (dust and noise) monitoring and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Great knowledge of environmental legislation.
  • High level skills and experience in Erosion and Sediment Control.
  • Understanding of core environmental principles and regulations including IECA & best practices/blue book
