Description
Primary purpose of position Within the Climate & Environment business unit, this role sits within the environmental operations stream of the business unit. The purpose of the Environmental Advisor position is to provide support, advice and guidance regarding environmental management to minimise emissions and potential impacts on the sensitive environments and communities around the Port of Townsville and Port of Lucinda. Working with other environmental advisors in the business unit, this role ensures that operations and activities are undertaken in compliance with legislative obligations, regulatory approvals and licence conditions, and that the Port’s Environmental Management System remains certified to ISO14001. This unit also provides technical advice and support to Biosecurity agencies on biosecurity matters at our First Point of Entry Ports and manage biosecurity threats in accordance with legislative obligations and guidance from biosecurity agencies.
