Description
Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department at Overlook Medical Center. Required hours are: 7:30AM - 3:30PM, including every other weekend. Starting rate $18.50/hr. Essential Function/Responsibilities: Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture etc. Follows the department's policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization. Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner. Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift. Removes all trash and linen within the hospital. Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio-hazard materials. Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area. Reports any repairs to maintenance. Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings. Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. EVS Aide will also need to work at Union Campus. Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements: HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment. To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English. Solid work history a must. Need to meet the fit testing requirement. Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. Relevant Experience: Prior experience in housekeeping in either a hospital or institutional setting or a related field preferred. Prior Floor-care experience preferred.
