Qualifications We are seeking an experienced Environmental and Compliance Specialist with strong reviewing and decision-making skills. This position will focus on reviewing, correcting and maintaining paperwork as well as performing data entry and completing compliance requirements and reporting. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and have a solid background in industrial and/or hazardous waste regulations and a commitment to safety and compliance. RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) expertise highly preferred to ensure our Hazardous Waste Division adheres to all environmental regulations and guidelines. JOB DUTIES * Review, correct, scan, maintain and file paperwork daily including but not limited to shipping manifests, scale tickets, regulatory notifications and other internal paperwork. * Post-mark and mail required paperwork to customers at least weekly. * Track paperwork, including discrepancies, to ensure timely filing to regulatory agencies. * Stay current with RCRA and other hazardous waste regulations, as related to job duties. Work with department staff to develop work plans/procedures to adjust to changing regulations. Training and Education: * Provide training sessions on RCRA and applicable hazardous waste regulations to employees, ensuring understanding and adherence to guidelines. Inspections and Compliance: * Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with RCRA and other environmental and safety regulations, providing guidance to workers on best practices. Additional Duties: * Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall safety and compliance initiatives of the division. REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor’s degree in technical fields such as chemistry, engineering, geology, or environmental sciences. * 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in environmental health and safety * Preferably within an industrial, chemical processing or hazardous waste management facility. * Must have experience working with of RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act)  * Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. * Strong communication skills. * Proficient in documentation and record management. * Must be skilled in Adobe Acrobat Pro or equivalent pdf program as well as all Microsoft applications. * Pre-Employment background check, and drug screening, is required. * Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers. * Ability to climb stairs, traverse rugged terrain on foot, carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally travel by air.
