OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Environmental and Sustainability Manager to join our team, primarily based in our Suffolk office, with periodic visits to London construction sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across multiple construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of environmental regulations and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to support Tier 1 contractors, delivering best-practice sustainability initiatives, and driving certification processes including LEED, BREEAM, WELL, and carbon reduction frameworks.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in an environmental management role or similar position within the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience with LEED, BREEAM, WELL and carbon management
  • Familiarity with UK environmental legislation
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate environmental and sustainability initiatives on construction projects.

  • Develop and implement carbon reduction strategies and contribute to net-zero and carbon accounting efforts.
  • Conduct environmental risk assessments and advise on best practice mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental legislation and sustainability benchmarks.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to integrate sustainability objectives into construction.
  • Prepare project-specific Sustainability Management Plans and contribute to Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
  • Compile reports and documentation for clients, regulators, and auditors.
  • Track, report, and analyse project performance against sustainability KPIs and ESG metrics.
