We’re seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Analytical Chemist to support trace metals analysis in our environmental laboratory located in Kilgore, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven Chemist who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume laboratory environment and is passionate about hands-on analytical instrumentation, complex problem-solving, and delivering high-quality data that directly supports environmental compliance, public safety, and critical regulatory decision-making. What You’ll Do Perform trace metals analysis on environmental and quality control samples in accordance with EPA methods and laboratory procedures Prepare, digest, and process samples using approved analytical methods, SOPs, and regulatory protocols Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain ICP and ICP-MS instrumentation Review, interpret, validate, and document analytical data within LIMS Perform QA/QC checks and identify instrument drift, matrix interferences, analytical discrepancies, or sample anomalies requiring corrective action Support method development, transfer, verification, optimization, and troubleshooting activities Assist with CAPA investigations, SOP updates, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives Maintain accurate laboratory records and collaborate with team members to meet turnaround times and productivity goals Perform additional duties as assigned Requirements What You'll Bring Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline 2-3 years of hands-on experience performing routine analytical testing and supporting method development, validation/verification, and method transfer activities Demonstrated expertise operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining ICP, ICP-OES, and/or ICP-MS instrumentation Experience with sample digestion, titration, and mercury analysis strongly preferred, with proficiency in at least one area required Strong foundation in QA/QC practices, analytical data review, and root cause investigation Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) and LIMS Work Schedule Full-time, on-site position following a Monday - Friday schedule Ability to work outside of scheduled hours, including evenings or weekends, as required to meet operational or workload needs What We Offer Competitive compensation Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Company-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurance Generous paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays Paid parental leave and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Tuition reimbursement and professional development support Career growth opportunities within a nationwide organization Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion At SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team. Responsibilities

Perform trace metals analysis on environmental samples using ICP and ICP-MS instrumentation in accordance with EPA methods. Responsible for sample preparation, data validation in LIMS, and supporting method development and QA/QC initiatives.
