The Opportunity
Due to our Acciona, MACA, AECOM (AMA) Alliance being selected as the preferred proponent on the Ring Road Completion Project we are seeking to appoint an Environmental Coordinator - Approvals & Compliance working out of the Collingwood project office with intermittent visits to site.
The Project
This package of works covers the design and construction of the North East Link between the M80 - Plenty Rd interchange, and the north tunnel entrance at Watsonia. Works include three kilometres of new freeway, two kilometres of freeway upgrades, construction of retaining walls and bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, and urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.
Key accountabilities for the position
Reporting to the Alliance Environmental Manager, this position will work closely with the design, construction and technical support teams, directly managing, coordinating and communicating environmental approvals and compliance requirements during the project’s lifecycle.

You will be focused on environmental approvals and compliance (including Environmental Performance Requirements), directly coordinating, and managing audits, inspections and communicating environmental approval requirements within agreed timeframes and ensure best practice outcomes are achieved on our project.

  • Assist with the implementation of internal and external audits / schedules including Client, Independent Environmental Auditor (IEA) and third parties.
  • Conduct internal environmental audits and coordinate external audits
  • Assist with managing systems to support project delivery to obtain and maintain compliance with relevant state and commonwealth environmental approvals
  • Assist with managing compliance with Environmental Performance Requirements (EPRs) associated with AMA.
  • Implementation of measures to ensure compliance with project approvals and procedures

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Construction Industry Environmental Auditing Experience
  • Working knowledge of Environmental Management System (ISO14001)
  • Working knowledge of state and federal environmental legislation and regulations
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or equivalent.
