Description

A permanent vacancy has arisen within our manufacturing facility in Livingston for an Environmental & Compliance Engineer.
Reporting to the Production Engineering Section Manager, the successful candidate’s main focus will be to provide technical advice and to ensure that our sites comply with all applicable environmental regulations.
An additional key aspect of this position would be to liaise with suppliers, raising business cases to purchase new equipment.

KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED;

· Preferably 3~5 years of environment or compliance experience
· Degree in Manufacturing / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
· Full knowledge of ISO 14001
· Some experience in a manufacturing or product design environment
· Project management experience
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and effective meetings skills

Responsibilities

· Ensuring all aspects of Safety and Quality are documented and embedded into our processes.
· Liaising with Environmental Associations and regulatory agencies to identify changes in Environmental Legislation that will affect air conditioning design and manufacture
· Liaising with select Air conditioning companies to support common understanding and implementation of EU directives
· Feedback and provide technical expertise in the understanding and interpretation of relevant directives to the air conditioning business
· Assisting operations management in maintaining compliances with environmental related matters and investigate issues.
· Working as a member of the Engineering team to advise and highlight any issues that may affect product design
· Conducting environmental investigations and waste acceptance programs.
· Co-ordinating site inspections.
· Providing compliance support, direction and plans.
· Responsible for techniques for handling hazardous materials, chemicals and toxins in view of existing standards.
