Responsibilities

We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Environmental Compliance Officer for our client based in Clondalkin, Dublin 22. This is a key role responsible for overseeing environmental compliance across waste collection, processing, and recovery operations, while also supporting the company’s health and safety management systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all environmental compliance activities, ensuring full adherence to EPA waste permits and current environmental legislation.
  • Conduct regular internal audits, site inspections, and environmental sampling.
  • Maintain and develop the Environmental Management System (EMS), including SOPs and risk assessments.
  • Complete and submit environmental returns and reports to the EPA and other regulatory bodies.
  • Liaise directly with regulatory agencies such as the EPA, HSA, and RSA as required.
  • Keep up to date with changes in environmental legislation, regulations, and best practices.
  • Provide internal guidance, support, and training on environmental policies and procedures.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions, inductions, and toolbox talks for staff.
  • Support the maintenance of the company’s Health & Safety Management System.
  • Assist with routine health & safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Deliver health & safety inductions and toolbox talks to promote a safe working culture.
  • Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
