OVERVIEW

The Environmental Compliance Specialist ensures organizational adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations while developing and implementing environmental management systems. This role involves monitoring compliance activities, conducting assessments, and serving as the primary liason with regulatory agencies and industry partners. Develop strategies for the company that makes and exceeds regulatory requirements and position C-hawk as a leader for environmental matters.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
  • 3-5 Years of experience in environmental compliance or regulatory affairs
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations ( Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, CERCLA)
  • Experience with environmental management systems (ISO 14001 preferred)
  • Proficiency in environmental monitoring equipment and software

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to conduct field inspections and site visits
  • Occasional exposure to industrial environments and weather conditions
  • May require travel to multiple facility locations
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and interpret environmental regulations including EPA, OSHA, and state environmental laws
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and inspections of facilities and operations
  • Develop and maintain compliance tracking systems and documentation
  • Prepare and submit required environmental reports to regulatory agencies
  • Manage environmental permits and ensure timely renewals
  • Develop, create, and implement environmental policies and procedures
  • Identify opportunities for improvements
  • Develop plans and actions for the team
  • Follow up and ensure, manage implementation
  • Create and deliver environmental training programs for staff
  • Investigate environmental incidents and develop corrective action plans
  • Manage waste management programs including hazardous and non hazardous materials
  • Oversee air quality, water discharge, and soil contamination monitoring
