BACKGROUND OF THIS ROLE

As an Environmental consultant, with 3 or more years of experience, you should already be familiar with regulatory & policy environment in which our client operates. We are looking for someone who wants to develop on from the graduate role they currently fill, and has experience in some of our key service areas but also the interest and drive to learn new skills and work in areas they’ve not yet had the chance to.
Applicants must demonstrate clear skills in on-site activities, technical reporting, project management and lower level mentoring of Junior staff. You must also be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively with clients, regulatory bodies and your colleagues. As an Environmental Consultant you will be expected to continue to build on the experience you will have gained in your role as a Graduate Consultant (either with us or your previous employer), applying the experience and skills you have developed through this role on a daily basis. Applicants must also demonstrate a willingness to develop in areas they have little/no experience in, this includes both technical skills and people skills as beginning to manage & mentor the junior team you work with (with the support of other Senior staff members) is key to this post.
Good time management, presentation skills and a flexible attitude are also essential to working within our busy and dynamic team. Chartership of any form is not required at this stage, but a desire to obtain chartership would be highly beneficial as well as having a relevant Masters course, but this is not required.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Deliver advice to clients using scientific solutions for their environmental problems whilst following the company’s mission, vision & values. In undertaking such work, you will not be afraid to challenge yourself and most importantly the regulators and regulations being applied where necessary as part of the team. The role of an Environmental Consultant is to act as supporting role within the team between Junior and Senior members whilst developing your skill set in areas that are of your personal development interest before you move onto a senior consultant role. Where assigned, you will also be tasked in training new colleagues and graduates in Peak procedures on how to undertake the various work we do.
This is a mid-level management & technical skills role, perfect for a candidate who is looking for that step up out of their graduate role and into their consultancy career.
