REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience, preferably in an environmental consultancy.
  • Knowledge of surface water and ground water resources and interaction.
  • Experience compiling EIARs for geology and water chapters.
  • Water Framework Directive experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in drilling supervision and logging.
  • Demonstrated experience in site investigation, geoenvironmental sample collection and monitoring.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets.
  • Competence in compiling comprehensive technical reports and deliver high-quality findings and recommendations.
  • Project Management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in technical report writing
  • Full Irish driving license.
  • Competent in Microsoft 365 (Word, Teams, Excel, Sharepoint).

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters in Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • GIS (ArcGIS and/or QGIS) experience.
  • Membership of a Professional Organisation.
  • Experience in flood impact assessment.
  • Experience in sustainable energy projects (wind farms, solar farms, battery storage) and management of water resources.
  • Project Management experience or qualification.
  • Costing projects for proposals and drafting project proposals for clients.
  • Project financial management.
  • Business development.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Are you an experienced hydrologist or hydrogeologist seeking to further your career in a forward-thinking environmental consultancy? As we continue to grow with high-profile clients, we are looking for a skilled and ambitious individual to join our team of environmental consultants. The successful candidate will play a key role in the water and geological aspects of multiple large-scale projects and will manage standalone hydro projects. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in any of our offices. It involves a combination of site and desk-based work; a full, clean driving licence is required.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drafting geology and water chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Reports (EIAR and ER).
  • Compiling Water Framework Directive reports.
  • Managing and evaluating water resources.
  • Carrying out flood risk assessments.
  • Developing Conceptual Site Models.
  • Design and supervision of water well drilling and pumping tests.
  • Design and supervision of site investigation.
  • Support project managers in all aspects of project deliverables.
  • Attend client meetings, liaise with and oversee subcontractors’ work.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.
