An exciting opportunity has opened to join KBR as a senior environmental practitioner and to manage our growing Environment & Planning Team in Brisbane. The team provides environmental assessment and planning services to KBR’s local and national infrastructure projects. The key market sectors include Defence, Water, and Transport. However, the Team is looking for someone to help build new clientele, to help develop and maintain a healthy local environmental practice. This role will lead and manage this growing team. We seek a leader to continue to manage the team, hire new talent, develop existing staff, and bring in new work and clients to our business. The Environment Team Manager reports to the Operations Manager for Queensland. The role has functional reporting responsibilities to Water, Transport, and Defence Market Sector Managers to support local and national project requirements. The role is based in Brisbane, with limited travel interstate expected from time to time. Key responsibilities of the role: Demonstrate HSE leadership behaviours in our projects, discussions, and forums Ensure that KBR HSE and Quality Policies are understood and implemented in projects Consistently behave in a manner that reflects KBR values Recognise and celebrate examples of staff demonstrating KBR’s Values. Provide input into engineering and design services tenders, including resource loading and activity schedules Formulate and implement strategic relationships with organisations that will assist KBR in expanding the Environment business. Promote KBR's environmental expertise in the marketplace such as by providing technical papers at conferences Actively maintain a technical reputation and relationships in relevant industry sectors; Project Delivery Lead and manage environmental specialists to deliver environmental consulting projects Apply expertise in environmental practice to assist in the establishment and implementation of projects, address stakeholder needs, and meet client expectations within agreed budget and timeframe Provide technical review and advice on team outputs, reports, and scopes of work Deliver your own projects and advisory services, supported by KBR’s project management office Other requirements: Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in environmental science, environmental engineering, or other relevant discipline TMR project experience highly regarded Experience working within a consultancy environment Experience with managing teams is desirable or a willingness to step up Capabilities in authoring professional reports and deliverables Excellent written and verbal communication skills Infrastructure Solutions Australia We are committed to social and environmental sustainability and a safe and inclusive workplace.
