JOB TITLE: Environmental Enforcement Team Leader
COMPANY: National Enforcement Solutions Limited
RESPONSIBLE TO: Line Manager
PLACE OF WORK: Adur District Council, 9 Commerce Way, Lancing Business Park, West Sussex BN15 8TA
Due to our continued growth within the environmental crime industry, we are now recruiting for the position of enforcement team leader based in Adur & Worthing, working on behalf of the local authority. Previous enforcement experience is not essential as full training will be given.

Responsibilities

SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

To provide the highest standards of customer service and professionalism always. Enforcing legislation in line with the local authority’s enforcement policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an enforcement team leader, you will be expected to lead from the front, leading a team of environmental enforcement officers and patrolling the borough in an intelligence led manner, engaging with members of the community and enforcing legislation by the way issuing on-the-spot fixed penalty notices for any offences of littering, dog fouling, fly tipping, domestic and commercial Duty of Care breaches, and other waste-related offences, as well as certain PSPOs witnessed.

RESPONSIBILITIES AS AN ENVIRONMENTAL ENFORCEMENT OFFICER:

· Brand ambassadors for the local authority and National Enforcement Solutions Ltd
· Patrolling the area of principal littering authority in accordance with an agreed deployment strategy
· Investigating complaints made by elected members and members of the public
· Engaging and educating members of the public regarding environmental crime
· Interacting directly with offenders and issuing fixed penalty notices for authorised offences in accordance with legislation, ensuring that the evidential and public interest tests have been met
· Compiling a full notebook entry and witness statement for every issued fixed penalty notice
· Obtaining and validating the personal particulars of an offender by contacting the operational support team
· Attending court and giving evidence if required

RESPONSIBILITIES AS A TEAM LEADER:

· Manage the day-to-day contract and liaise with the clients on site
· Motivate a team and promote a happy working environment, leading by example, performance management and promoting a good practice method of development

TERMS OF THE ROLE

Full time and permanent, subject to 6-month probationary period
