QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant post-secondary education in the area environmental sciences; preference will be given to candidates with post-secondary education in the areas of Biology, Land Reclamation and Forestry.
  • Experience conducting soil sampling and detailed site assessments would be considered an asset.
  • Experience conducting soil and vegetation site assessments would be considered an asset.
  • An understanding of industry and relevant government regulations
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and listening skills.
  • Good time management skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision and the ability to contribute to the project by being a team player.
  • ·Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and must provide current drivers abstract.
  • Must be willing to travel and work in a field setting away from home office location.
  • Must be physically capable of performing the manual labour duties required.
  • Previous experience working around field and heavy equipment would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian System for Soil Classification, standard environmental field practices and procedures, as well as upstream oil and gas industry would be considered assets.
  • Strong safety acumen / record including a history of safe driving.
  • Preference will be given to candidates Registered, or able to register as a Professional Biologist or Agrologist (or associated technologist) in Alberta and/or Saskatchewan.
  • Must have CSA approved Steel Toed Safety Boots.

Responsibilities:

  • Working on a wide variety of environmental projects involving Remediation, Reclamation, Biophysical and well testing assessments.
  • Conducting Soil Sampling and Detailed Site Assessments in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
  • Conducting and competing upstream / midstream oil and gas Phase I II and III Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Preparing assessments and writing corresponding project specific assessments and reports.
  • Demonstrating commitment to meeting the defined project scope, delivering on-time and on-budget.
  • Contributing to completing of client proposals and other external client communications.
  • Other duties as assigned.
