EH&S Coordinator

Location: 30 mins north of Barrie, ON (manufacturing environment)Salary: $70,000 – $75,000 (based on experience) + Benefits, Pension, & VacationType: Onsite daily

In this role, you’ll be a key driver in building a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance, and protecting the well-being of employees across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and maintain environmental reporting systems to support regulatory compliance and internal performance tracking
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Compliance Approvals (ECA) related to air, noise, and stormwater, including monitoring and documentation
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies (including MECP) and work closely with environmental consultants on compliance and reporting activities
  • Oversee the facility’s waste management program, including vendor coordination, waste stream tracking, and regulatory adherence
  • Partner with internal teams and union roles to ensure proper waste segregation, storage, and handling practices
  • Support capital projects by coordinating safe and compliant disposal of project-generated waste
  • Manage purchasing and invoicing related to environmental and waste management activities
  • Conduct and coordinate environmental sampling (water, soil, dust, chemicals), ensuring proper procedures and documentation
  • Maintain oversight of chemical handling and storage practices to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (operations, maintenance, engineering) to promote environmental best practices
  • Maintain accurate environmental records for audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce environmental risk and improve performance
  • QualificationsDiploma or degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Environmental Engineering, or related field
  • 2–3 years of experience in environmental compliance, reporting, or monitoring within a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Hands-on experience with environmental regulations related to air, noise, stormwater, and waste management
  • Knowledge of environmental sampling techniques and monitoring programs
  • Familiarity with chemical handling and environmental regulatory requirements
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar software is an asset
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across departments
