Description
Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to support and enhance our safety and environmental programs across our Texas operations. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, TCEQ) and drive a strong culture of safety and sustainability. This role plays a key part in assisting with audits, recordkeeping, and corrective action follow-up to protect employees and minimize risk exposure. Occasional travel within the region and to our headquarters in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas may be required. This position will report directly to the Safety Manager based in Dallas for all safety-related responsibilities and initiatives. In addition, the employee will have a secondary reporting line in the location they are supporting for accountability, day-to-day performance, and operational oversight. Key Responsibilities: Implement and maintain EHS programs and policies in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations. Conduct routine jobsite audits and safety inspections, documenting hazards and ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Investigate incidents and near-misses; recommend corrective actions. Facilitate EHS training for employees and contractors. Monitor project sites to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations as well as company policies. Maintain incident reports, JHA’s, OSHA 300 logs, training records and other internal documents in our safety management system. Monitor expiration dates of permits, certifications, and licenses as necessary. Maintain SDS records, chemical inventories, and ensure proper hazardous material handling and storage. Collaborate with the safety manager, site managers, and employees to promote safety awareness. Verify subcontractor compliance with safety plans, permits, and documentation requirements when applicable. Help maintain regulatory reports to local, state, and federal agencies as needed. Serve as point of contact for EHS compliance during audits or inspections. Stay up to date with EHS laws and regulations specific to Texas and the industry. Maintain fleet safety and track driving metrics to identify trends. Facilitate safety training for new employee onboarding. Requirements High school diploma or GED required 2+ years of experience in an EHS role (industry-specific experience preferred). OSHA 30 Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, and other relevant standards. Professional certifications such as GSP, ASP, CSP, CHMM, or CIH are a plus. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS management software. Preferred Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management or related field. Experience in HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. Fleet Safety
