THIS IS THE ROLE FOR YOU IF…

You have 7+ years of experience in all 3 letters: E, H, and S. You’ve gained your experience in an industry like waste management or something else that is route-based. You know how to be effective with a population of drivers, not manufacturing staff or construction workers. You want to lead your function, and you’re ready to call the shots. You can work from either our Sarnia or Hillsburgh location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead EHS compliance across all Canadian and US brands.
  • Ensure driver safety training is effective, consistent, and frequent.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and near misses; implement corrective actions.
  • Use safety and driver data systems (e.g., MyMomentum, Samsara) to monitor and improve performance.
  • Actively audit operations and engage with service drivers, performing fleet inspections, site audits, and ride alongs.
  • Drive safety and quality for our route drivers, emphasizing fleet inspections and vehicle compliance.
  • Travel to brand locations approximately 33% of the time.
  • Collaborate with leadership to maintain high safety standards and culture.
  • Support onboarding and training of frontline staff with a focus on safety protocols.
  • Act as TSS case manager for all workers compensation and insurance claims related to EHS incidents, and maintains productive relationships with relevant adjudicators and agency representatives.
  • Champion and facilitate return to work programs for injured workers to minimize claim costs.
  • Keep abreast of new legislation in all jurisdictions in which TSS operates.
  • Ensure the safe disposal of hazardous or biological waste as per regulations.
  • Interface with regulatory bodies such as provincial and state agencies like worker’s compensation boards, government ministries, and various environment, health and safety organizations.
