We are committed to the ecologically sound and sustainable use of resources and strive to operate in a manner that minimises waste and protects the environment.   Your new role: Reporting to the Regional EHS Partner, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering effective Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) managerial and technical support to Sims facilities throughout the VIC/Tas region. Your primary focus will be fostering a safety-first culture rooted in care while upholding Sims' commitment to environmental stewardship. Your contributions will be instrumental in aligning EHS strategies and initiatives with our organisational objectives, ensuring timely and effective implementation.   Your responsibilities will include but not limited to: Coach operations in the effective implementation and use of the EHS management system and act as an escalation point for complex matters. Support the implementation and operational understanding of EHS policy, standards and procedures. Conduct analysis from EHS data to facilitate management decision making. Work with operations on the effective use of EHS tools such as Risk Assessment and Critical Control Verification. Participate in applicable internal and external audits and provide guidance on corrective actions. Support the facilitation of EHS training. Provide insight on process hazards, and risk rating on incidents, Safe Work Procedures and Job Safety Environment Analysis Manage worker's compensation claims and the return-to-work process.   Essential Criteria: A qualification in Environment, Health & Safety or above in a related field. Experience of at least 2 years in a high-hazard environment advising on safety, health and/or Environmental issues. Previous experience with EHS incident investigation and return to work processes, would be highly regarded. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communications and presentation skills.
