For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $18 – 30 per hour based on level of experience. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Technician to join our Buffalo, NY area facilities. This position will ensure the facilities comply with all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements (e.g. State, Federal and Schneider-Electric). Knowledge and practical application of environmental, health and safety regulations is required. The EHS Technician will provide EHS support to our operations including engineering, warehousing and production. This individual will be an integral part of the EHS team and will work closely with all departments to drive the necessary programs to ensure excellent overall results in environment, health, safety and sustainability. It is envisioned that this individual will promote the importance of a strong environmental, health and safety culture by providing training and establishing/administering EHS programs. This individual must display good communication, planning, collaboration and leadership skills. What do you get to do in this position? EHS – supporting the implementation and maintenance of the Environmental, Health and Safety systems and programs. Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents to assist with determining root causes and recommend corrective actions. Provide assistance and guidance as needed to support the production floor. Emergency Response- assist with coordinating/organizing emergency response plans and drills. Sustainability Initiatives – assist with our Sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact. Training – develop and facilitate safety and environmental trainings to include new hire safety orientation and refresher courses. Collaboration – partner with leadership, employees, and external agencies to promote a culture of safety first. Vendor Coordination- coordinate vendors – PPE items, safety assessments, CPR/First Aid training, etc. Assures employees and operations maintain compliance with safety and environmental programs, regulations and company policy. Conduct and assist with job hazard analysis and ergonomic assessments to identify risk in our operations. Propose engineering solutions to eliminate risks. Ensure corrective actions are taken. Maintaining records for EHS programs. Who will you report to? You will report to the EHS Manager. This role is an onsite position. You are required to report to the Cheektowaga, NY facility 5 days a week. The schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Required Qualifications High School Diploma required; associate’s degree preferred. 6+ months of familiarity or experience with safety and environmental regulations Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and NYSDEC regulations. Self-motivated, confident professional eager to contribute in a team-oriented, safety-focused environment. Committed to continuous improvement and proactive risk prevention. Serves as a safety, health, and environmental facilitator Comfortable training large groups and promoting safety awareness. Experienced in accident investigation and hazard analysis. Effective communicator with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and multitasking abilities. Knowledgeable in EHS engineering practices and regulatory compliance. Capable of researching and applying industry best practices. Flexible scheduling availability as needed.
