Description
Reporting to the Team Leader, Environmental Health, you will play a key role in protecting public health and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation including the Food Act, Public Health Act, Local Nuisance and Litter Control Act, and Supported Residential Facilities Act. Key Responsibilities:  * Conducting food business inspections and audits * Investigating food complaints and assisting with food recalls * Providing advice on infectious and notifiable diseases * Investigating environmental health issues such as cooling towers, water pollution, vermin, odours, and domestic squalor * Inspecting public swimming pools, spas, hairdressers, beauty and skin penetration premises * Assessing wastewater system applications and inspecting installations * Monitoring mosquito breeding sites * Providing input on planning and development applications * Supporting licensing of Supported Residential Facilities * Advising on stormwater pollution and illegal waste discharges * Assisting with community education on hygiene and food safety * Participating in audits, reviews, team performance measures and professional development activities   Position Description - Environmental Health, Officer  [https://www.teatreegully.sa.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0040/1979653/Position-Description-Environmental-Health-Officer,-Regulatory-Services-May-2026.pdf] About You You will bring strong technical knowledge, sound judgement and a commitment to community health and safety. You will also have: * Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health), Associate Diploma in Environmental Health, or equivalent qualifications recognised under the SA Public Health Act and Food Act * Current Class C SA Driver’s Licence * Current DHS General Employment Probity or Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain) * Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical and national police check   Apply Today!
