Description:

We are looking for an experienced Environmental Health Officer to assist one of clients based in Armadale.
Responsibilities:
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Contribute to the provision of a high standard of services which support and improve health in the community.
- Ensure that statutory requirements, and, where applicable, Council policies relating to health, meet with compliance.
- Ensure a responsible and professional high standard of advice and public relations on health matters to the public in person, by telephone and in written correspondence.
- Provide advice, information and assistance to other departments to ensure that proper attention is given to matters of public health significance.
ESSENTIAL TO THE ROLE:
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent qualifications acceptable to the Executive Director of Public Health.
- Appointment as Authorised Person and Inspector (Noise) under the Environmental Protection Act or eligibility for such appointment.
- Eligibility for membership of Environmental Health Australia.
- Possession of Current C Class Drivers Licence.
- Formal qualifications or training in HACCP and/or Auditing of Food Safety Plans (desirable).
- Strong Experience is required in regulatory inspections including food business and public building inspectionsSound knowledge of computer systems and software (MS Office, HPRM/TRIM/CM9, Civic Authority)
- Experience in Local Government
- Well developed interpersonal skills
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- Sound conflict resolution skills.
- Sound knowledge of computer applications and skills in operation of a personal computer.
