GDS are seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor for a well-known Main Contractor.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Third level qualification in EHS or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years’ experience working on large scale commercial/construction projects.
  • Highly organised.
  • Self-starter and the ability to build relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Full clean driver’s license preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail

Responsibilities
  • Policy Development: Supporting EHS Lead in the development and implementation of the safety management system aligning with statutory obligations and organisational goals.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations, industry regulations and industry best practices.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and safety performance metrics.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with employees, contractors, and leadership to promote safety awareness and resolve concerns.
  • Training & Education: Deliver training sessions, toolbox talks, and inductions to educate staff on safety protocols.
  • Continuous Improvement: Benchmark safety performance and implement strategies for ongoing improvement.
