POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or related field. Relevant certifications (i.e CRSP, CSP, CHSC) are an asset.
  • 1-3 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a similar industry.
  • General knowledge of Canadian EHS regulations and standards. Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and training abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently and as part of a team. Strong commitment to promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels. Stay updated with legislative changes and advise management on necessary adjustments.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance EHS programs, policies, and procedures. Conduct regular reviews, audits, and updates to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses. Identify potential safety and environmental hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing and delivering EHS training programs for employees, ensuring all staff are aware of safety procedures and protocols.
  • Provide new hire orientation outlining the Company’s high expectations regarding safety rules and regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes. Identify areas for improvement and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Assist with environmental programs, including waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable practices.
  • Assisting with developing, implementing, and maintaining documentation processes to support ISO management systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of EHS activities, incidents, training, and inspections. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Sales, Human Resources, Operations, and Facilities, to integrate EHS considerations into all aspects of the organization’s activities.
  • Ensure ISO 45001 audit readiness and compliance.
  • Assist with sustainability initiatives, promoting sustainable practices across the organization
